Overview

Technician Assistant - Aviation - Reading, PA - Monday - Friday 7:00AM-4:00PM

 

Assists in the performance of maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections and repairs of Turbo Propeller, and Light Jet aircraft including aircraft parts procurement functions.
Work must be supervised and performed in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations, manufactures technical information and industry standards.
Individual must be customer focused; work effectively with all staff members including parts procurement and inventory personnel.

 

Pay Range: $20.39+ per hour

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:


1. Assists in maintenance, alterations, and preventative maintenance in strict accordance with manufacturer recommendations and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations under direct supervision of Lead Aviation Technician or Aviation Maintenance Technician.
2. Assists in the maintenance of Quest Diagnostics aviation facilities.
3. Provides ground handling assistance for Flight Operations’ aircraft.
4. Maintains a service-oriented attitude toward customer needs, comfort, and safety.
6. Assists in scheduled, unscheduled and preventative maintenance on Flight Operations aircraft under direct supervision of Lead Aviation Technician, Aviation Maintenance Technician and/or Director of Aviation Maintenance.
7. Provides aircraft parts procurement assistance to Flight Operations inventory personal.
8. Assists in the repair and maintenance of ground support equipment and tooling, including but not limited to, power carts, hydraulic mules, rectifiers and tow tractors.
9. Ensures proper handling and storage procedures for hazardous materials stored and shipped at base location.
10. Must attend and successfully completes company and FAA/DOT required training.
11. Maintains a positive, team-oriented relationship with Flight Operations colleagues.
12. Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Aviation Maintenance, Lead Aviation Maintenance Technician Aviation Maintenance Technician and/or Director of Maintenance.

Qualifications

Job Knowledge:


• Requirements includes the ability to understand and follow aircraft manufacturer’s technical instructions.
• Must possess good organizational skills.
• Must be able to develop a basic understanding of the Federal Aviation Regulations as they pertain to aviation maintenance.
• Must be able to assist in performing minor modifications using accepted and approved data.
• Knowledge of turboprop, light twin, light Jet aircraft systems is a plus
• The individual must have basic computer skills.

 

Experience required:
• 1-3 years of maintenance experience working with electrical, mechanical systems is a plus.
• Working knowledge of computerized inventory systems is a plus.

 

License/Ratings and Other Requirements:
• Ability to meet the FAR Part 65 requirements for the Airframe & Powerplant certificate.
• Basic hand tools to comply with general job assignments.
• Overtime, split shifts and occasional travel are common.
